International Philatelic Exhibitions:
The Hard Road To Glory
One of the most important
events in the life of a stamp collector is the international philatelic exhibition. It is a time when the collector gets
the opportunity to exhibit his collection in public. It is also a time when the collector receives public recognition for
his work as a philatelist. To be able to participate in an international philatelic exhibition is , in itself, an achievement.
The stringent requirements governing international philatelic exhibitions insure that the public sees only the best collections
from philatelists with different nationalities. To be able to win an award is, without doubt, a very fulfilling experience.
Here are some of the winners in three international philatelic
exhibitions from 1994 to 1998. The lists include a selection of the award-winning collections from each philatelic exhibition.
They are arranged in descending order and in accordance with the award received by the exhibitor. The GOLD award is the highest
award in international philatelic exhibiton.
